The envy I have for Braeburn’s position in this silly little image. Also a pic I was really proud of until I wasnt. That early June was a weird mood of euphoria and sadness while regularly trying to get my momentum as a fulltime “pony” artist while also trying not to fall in love with other gay artists of the era lol.

Rooster Cogburn probably isn’t. Neither does anyone seem that way in 3:10 to Yuma. The problem with Brokeback Mountain seems to be mostly related to the jokes that followed after it, like the song Peter makes up in an episode of Family Guy or the “Gay Cowboys Eating Pudding” joke from South Park film festival episode, when a movie that so openly displayed it in what may as well have been a somewhat homophobic period/society and - from what I’ve heard, never seen it myself - showed it tenderly and not entirely a bad thing. Pretty much a perfect storm of timing and reaction.
As for the Braeburn thing, it’s entirely likely that there were a few guys who actually were interested in him from the start; I’ve heard of someone who entered MLP fandom because of Braeburn. But it’s kind of weird; sometimes it’s taken as a joke and then sometimes the joke is taken too far so the line’s blurred, then they decide to laugh it off and it becomes a joke again.

He’s a cowboy. Cowboys are gay because Brokeback Mountain and the village people.
Also I’ve heard there’s a majorish attraction towards him, “everyone is gay for Braeburn”. I don’t know much about that though since I wasn’t into blokes when I first saw the episode.
I’d be envious too. Getting that much love and affection from Soarin would be incredible.
Need moar fanfics.
we had and still have few male choices,
one of those was going to be our little gay pony and what better than the cute cowboy?

I don’t get it either.
