Eh, show staff are like that for all programs, not just MLP. What I was saying there was that in Season 4, Episode 25, Flash was doing Royal Guard duties, for a cameo that makes sense. And believe me, possums can be terrifying, especially if you’re not sure if the next thing to pop out will try to eat your face or not.
Finally, what I was saying was that you’re assuming the vocal minority’s opinion is the general consensus, which it ain’t. I just thought by your word choice you held a negative opinion. I don’t mind people simply not liking characters, but I just dislike irrational hatred of them. it doesn’t have to end with yelling.
“ it happened, but it just doesn’t overlap.”
This flip-flopping of theirs is getting ridiculous….
“The other cameo, at S4E25, actually makes sense, because he was doing his job at the place he works.”
….what? What in the world do you mean by that? The non-canon/canon/whatever Flash Sentry was escorting Cadense FROM the crystal empire where he works in EG.
Course in the official comics, he’s just a sissy lieutenant in Canterlot XD
Dear lord, don’t get so defensive dude. (rolls eyes) Of course there are a few people that like him, heck I personally am completely indifferent to him. I was just talking about general consensus, not literal consensus.
Some people take everything so literal….
I like him too.
And jeez, every single Flash Sentry image by this artist turns into a whine-fest by Flash haters.
Derp, meant Season 4. They’re kind of blending together, since I’m an old brony.
The cameo in the ‘Three’s A Crowd’ wasn’t originally scripted. It was added by an animator who wanted a cameo. Meghan didn’t know about it until her twitter feed was filled with people saying she was a liar. The other cameo, at S4E25, actually makes sense, because he was doing his job at the place he works.
One, the movie isn’t ‘non-canon,’ it happened, but it just doesn’t overlap. Two, most people were neutral to Flash, and enough people like him. Even me saying I like Flash means “nobody likes him” is invalid. I can certainly find a few more, but not everyone hates him like you do.
The quote WAS smarter then my abridged versoin of it, but not that much.
@Poptard
Why would Flash appear in Season 3?
:?
He was introduced in Equestria Girls. If McCarthy really hated him, why did he have a guest appearence in S4? Nobody liked him. The movie was already declared non-canon. And yet he made a guest appearence in a McCarthy episode. You think that Ed Valentine, the guest writer, was saying ‘we need more Flash Sentry’?
Its impossible to tell if McCarthy really regrets making Flash Sentry. There is certainly quite a bit of Sailor Moon-esque or worse BS she’s pulled with Twilight’s character that she certainly does not regret.
I honestly don’t think McCarthy is fond of Flash, to be honest. The derogatory nickname “Dreamy Cutebottom” came from her, not haters. She wasn’t planning on including him in S3, something that wouldn’t happen if she liked the character. For reference, when Amy Keating Rogers came back to the show for S4, Soarin’ (named after her own son Soren) reappeared again, so it’s not like she doesn’t have the power to put him back in if she wanted to.
“Princess Coronation” was the name of the Hub event that they did when the episode aired.
Also, way to take the princess quote out of context.
From the sound of the interviews, it sounds more like Meghan treats Twilight like her self-insert character, and she usually has the final say. The bland Flash Sentry was her idea of a perfect boyfriend, and ‘every little girl wants to be a princess.’
Quite frankly, the only reason her name wasn’t on the episode Magical Mystery Cure was because ‘Magical Mystery Cure’ the script was written by M. A. Larson, but the script ‘Princess Coronation’ was done by Meghan.
Before we learned the name and length of the last episode of S3, for a week or so we learned the episode was going to be called Princess Coronation. Obviously that couldn’t stand on its own, so it was merged with an old episode idea written back in early 2011.
What a pity.
You misunderstand me. I’m not pretending that Equestria Girls itself wasn’t a Hasbro mandate; the staff has outright said that it pretty much was. But the staff has also said that stuff like Twilicorn was their own idea.
Really? Just… really?
…Has it ever occurred to you that maybe, JUST maybe, not every unpopular thing the show does, for toy sales or other reasons, is a Hasbro mandate? That maybe, JUST maybe, the writers actually do things because they WANT to, and Hasbro just recognizes the money-making opportunities from them?
Twilight thinks it’s romantic.
Flash Sentry thinks she’s being cheap.
Lol!
Twilight: It said we had to in the book.
It’s a really, really bad shake.
