It’s not an Erhu. The erhu is a 2 stringed instrument that produces a elegant wavy sound that instantly resonates as “Chinese”.

What you see here is a 3 stringed “shamisen” which produces that unique muted plucky / tinny sound.

the confusion here is that she’s using a “bow” like you would with an Erhu…and I don’t think Shamisen can be played in any way other than by plucking and strumming.
