I loved this photo of king sombra and princess cadence because the two of them do need a break from doing their royal duties and the only way that the two of them could do that would be is to snuggled happily in bed together.

You know what? I always thought that Artha’s backstory would fit perfectly with Sombra. Sombra be would the perfect Lich King.

Sorry to break it to you, but I dislike that headcanon. Also to top it off, Cadence’s backstory book is nothing but a glorified headcanon. Plus, Sombra doesn’t strike as a stallion who would settle down and have a family. Quite the opposite in fact.

I prefer to think of Cadance being Sombra’s daughter. She was somehow saved/escaped as a babe and flung into the future….It would fit with canon.
 
She was found as an (pegasus) infant in the wilderness and raised by a small town of earth ponies.

This ties with my headcanon that Cadence is the only pony Sombra truly cares about and wouldn’t mind being bossed around by her. What she says, he does.
