I also knew a dude that was that dark too, but he was form freaking Africa.
And the problem brown has it’s that it has no complementary colors, so it always clashes with others unless you’re using beige or shades of brown.
I’ve seen people that dark before. The only complaint I have is that the purple and black clothing really clash. Like eugh.
It makes her look less of a fashionista and more of an old lady.
In all seriousness now, Rarity is too dark. I can barely make out her features, even with my monitor brightness at max.
The way her hands are and her dress makes me think from India.
I could be wrong, as I don’t really care about race at all in a person.

Twilight looks Indian? Or somewhere in that part of the world.
And Fluttershy makes me think of Gravity Falls for some reason.

Rarity and Applejack are African American.
The mix of natural and pony hair colors is odd. Dash I can see dyeing her hair, but Twilight? I find myself wondering if it’s a side effect of her ascension.
So what ethnicities are Rarity, Applejack, and Twilight?
No. I made her white,but with a tan.
Sorry, just can’t see her like that. Applejack would probbly have a nice healthy golden brown, being out in the sun all day.
