I think what hurts some of it is that it seemed like it follows kkat’s own fallout playthrough sometimes (i’m presuming) yet the characters aren’t as big of dicks as their FO3 counterparts. It really does make no sense for Pip to shoot up all of Ardu or Autumn.

I guess. When I started reading it, I quit before getting to that part… I still don’t know what the hype is about. I love ponies and FO but the two don’t mix for me.

Mutually assured destruction is a pretty nonsensical idea, but it’s still entirely possible.
 
Basically, the Zebras religiously fear that Nightmare Moon will destroy them all. So the war escalates, neither side is willing to back down over a struggle for resources, which has already been resolved by advances in technology. It gets to a point where Celstia can’t take it any more and abdicates to Luna. To the Zebras, this is unforgivable and they pre-emptively level Equestria’s major settlements, Military and R&D bases.

Huh. This is actually an interesting idea. Two Wastelands meet. The resulting recalibration of the balance of power would be fascinating to watch.

It’s explained in the backstory. Basically, the same out-of-control spiral that leads to Nightmare Moon or the Smarty Pants incident turned up to eleven and applied to an entire society.

Fun characters doing such fun things as murdering a village, nearly choking to death in a room full of deadly gas because they want to roleplay as dead woman, and destroying cloud cities because they want to see the pretty sunshine

@stargrazer eh, yeah but that’s all backstory stuff, the actual ‘modern’ characters are pretty fun, but the background is pretty derp. It tried too much to ape the first.

Dunno, I just can’t grasp the connection between ponies and senseless grimderp genocide (which is what FO is based on, E or not).
