>People who can’t turn off their brains and just be entertained annoy me.
I can enjoy brainless entertaiment. I’m a DBZ fan for fuck sake.
What you’re asking of me to enjoy this comic though, is to completely turn off any higher thought and just clap at the funny ponies and bright colors, and I am not doing that.
And thing is, this comic is not supposed to be a thoughtless little sketch like the Big Mac arc, this is clearly supposed to be a serious arc about love and loss. But it fails miserably at that. I’m not going to cut it any slack if it fails on it’s purpose as well as entertaining me in general.
Bottom line: Cut that “How dare you not like this arc you bunch of snobs!” bullcrap, and consider that maybe we should be allowed to dislike it without being treated like shit for it.
My initial comment was “That explains so much.”
You would think that last phrase would be a bad sign.
I’ll have my lawyer contact your lawyer.
Celestia and Luna were connected to elements, S4 opening not withstanding, and it has been showing that at the very least that one pony can still use the power. Granted not to the fullest extant and often with undesirable results but still. Sombra just up and used the elements like that.
@Background Pony #A254
Yes, and your display of whatever you call this is just worth so much more.
That wasn’t regular stupidity. That was full-on batshit sheer idiotic stupidity.
People can still be entertained with their brains on. But it does explain your attitude towards the drama.
As far as calling Sombra a Gary Stu for being able to wield all 6 Elements, recall we saw Celestia do the exact same thing in PTS-2. So… yeah. Y’all don’t get to complain there.
@Background Pony #A254
You sound like a “high art” lit snob, which renders your opinions invalid, regardless of their individual merit.
YES, the setup needed more logical consistency (why are the barriers between worlds only breaking down now, when the mirror had presumably been sealed for centuries?). I wish we could have seen more of the Negaverse Mane6 than just in Katie’s final 2-pager.
Love makes you stupid. That’s pretty much the point of the arc.
People who can’t turn off their brains and just be entertained annoy me.
Wait, really? Did professional critics really give the last book a pass?
Wow, someone’s literature teacher is crying in their grave/bed(as applicable) right now. Nevermind the contradiction to the setup the finale had, they should have been pointing out major story flaws like lack of agency on the main characters part, lack of consistency in resolution, and of course lack of explanation or motive for the inciting incident that made all of this stupidity happen in the first place.
When you spend a solid three issues on nothing but exposition and setup, and then center your resolution around a direct contradiction to that setup, most critics would have torn your ass apart for messing up such a basic necessity. You’ve literally wasted your audiences time by that point on nothing.
You can’t even say “just have fun and roll with it!” either, because the book isn’t about fun, or adventure, or learning lessons about friendship. It’s about a toxic romance that ends on a downer note for all involved and then shows the supposed focus, Celestia, no further as a character from the experience.
I don’t know what critics you’re citing, but they need to feel ashamed. Opinions on good or bad is one thing, but ignoring core storytelling necessities like that is just terrible.
If you don’t have anything important to the conversation and all your gonna say is stop,butt out!
What an eloquent argument.

Translation: People who liked the comic are sexy and smart and refined and people who disliked it are hateful whiny assholes deserving only of scorn and death, because I liked the story.
Professional reviewers gave Superman Return high notes and liked it. Does that make the movie any good for you?
Same goes with Reflections: Other S and how it failed to make Celestia a more human (or in this case equine) character turning her into a Damsel in Distress who only looked to be with King McGoodygood even if others told her it was dangerous and why it was a problem.
And of course the salt of the injury is how flawless and even more backgroundless good King Sombra was. Suddenly knows how to use the SIX Elements of Harmony, which canonically only worked correctly with the Mane 6? Saves the day by throwing the other characters away? That only screams Gary Stu, and sadly few stories have good Gary Stus characters.
It was disliked by like the half of the fandom though.
Whiny comic book nerds still bitching about their opinions
Meanwhile,professional reviewers liked the comic book and gave positive reviewsgranted,still opinions that you can disagree with but its refreshing to see good review opposed to whiny comic book nerds
I already tried explaining, nobody gave a shit.
>Whoa, back up on the self-deprecation there.
No, it’s not really self deprecation if it’s true.
Whoa, back up on the self-deprecation there. What I mean is, when you share an opinion, explain your reasoning. Share how you reached any given conclusion. That’s a good start.
People tend to accept a given opinion if they can understand the reasoning behind it. That’s it, really.
This comment sums it up quite nicely.Thank you.
I can’t prove my opinion isn’t shit, I can’t even prove to myself that I’m not a worthless waste of skin, what hope do I have to convince other people of anything? I couldn’t convince them of the sky being blue, much less anything opinion related. I feel the need to spout my own opinions to service myself, because if I don’t I start banging my head against walls.
People tend to “listen to one radio station”, and it’s “WIIFM”. What’s In It For Me?
By default, assume that others will not respect your opinion, and consider it complete and utter bullshit.
Show people why they should care about your opinion. Show people why it’s important. What are you driving at? Prove to us that your opinion isn’t complete bullshit.
I like positive comments sections. Most people do, I think. I personally also don’t mind criticism if it’s thoughtful and constructive.
Constructive=
If someone is just going to a comments section to whine about “I DON’T LIKE THIS THING” and say “STOP LIKING WHAT I DON’T LIKE”, then yeah. They’re kinda just spraying the comments section with their bullshit and wasting everyone’s time.
It’s kinda what you’ve been doing here. Then you open yourself up to lots of negative feedback, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. It’s a sign that you haven’t engaged people, and people really don’t care about anything you’re saying. People get you don’t like it, yeah. But that’s it.
You have nothing useful or constructive to contribute, and for some really odd reason you’re going out of your way to upset yourself by looking at this thing you don’t like. So, instead of making a fool of yourself, people suggest you block offending tags and move on.
For A. It’s because going to picture you dislike and openly bashing which makes the people who do like what the picture’s subject get pissed at you and call you out and the fact that it is really pointless because,like I said,you could just filter it so you don’t have to bother with the subject or the people who like it and so you don’t have to deal with people who will obviously get on your ass.
And for B,I took that as you just being a dick to people when I should of used poe’s logic and I apologize.
A. Then why every time I say “I dislike this thing” in the comment section, I get half the booru on my ass, half of it being people yelling “FILTERS! FILTERS! FILTERS”, other half being “YOU SUCK FUCK YOURSELF”, and sometimes the mods themselves, there to shove a banhammer where the sun don’t shine?
B. I wasn’t bashing people who like Good Sombra, I’d never do that, unless they were dicks to me first. My second comment saying that I wanted to purge them all was a joke.
That’s not what I meant,I meant that if you hate Good guy sombra,then why don’t you just filter him so you don’t have to see him.If he pisses you off,just block the damn tag.That’s all I’m saying.Not don’t bash any thing.
Also,why do you feel the need to bash people who like good sombra.All I’m getting from you bashing people who like him is “stop liking what I hate”.
@ArrJaySketch
So I can’t say I dislike anything ever, got it.
@Background Pony #51BB
>Taking that second comment seriously
I wanna die
IKR,if you hate this guy so much,use the damn filters!I don’t give a damn how stuborn or petty you are about them,filters are there for a reason and shouldn’t be ignored so you can go on to unfiltered picture you hate and bash it.
@thps48
I don’t think he’s intentionally trolling.
