Still, a sudden switch from “free” to “you have to pay” is bound to alienate a number of his fans.
Like I said though- he’s the artist, it’s his decision. I may not agree with it, but I still understand why he made it. And, at least he’s still making art, even if most will never get to see it.

So nothing. He’s the artist- he can follow whatever business model he wants.
It’s still kind of irritates me though that he occasionally releases promos for his stuff, as if to say “This is what you’re missing, because you won’t give me money.”

It’s not bad for him. It’s bad for fans of his who are unable (or unwilling) to pay to see his work.
explain to me how going paysite is bad in any way for doxy :V

Well, it isn’t because of greed, but for some reason or another, Doxey decided to go paysite exclusive. Don’t know the full details, but apparently it has something to do with SJWs and wanting to protect his artwork or something like that.
Well thats a pity. But hopefully, the eventual digital release will be a bit cheaper. And the artbook is for charity, so its for a good cause.
But of course, its entirely up to you XD

i remenber when i found that blog trough some random reblogs and i was like “how the hell havent i heard from this artist/blog yet?” and then i checked that it was like a week old.

Thanks for responding! I guess it’s more that the quality of some of the art didn’t quite meet my expectations. But I can’t draw for beans, so what do I know? :P
No offence to any of the artists. Just personal taste.
I was a fan of his, and while I don’t agree with his decision, at the same time, I won’t miss him, either.
We got a lot of people participating this time round, even more then the last 2 artbooks. Not everyone came back, but there is a lot of new talent this time round.
To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of Doxy’s work even before he
got greedywent pay-only, so I won’t miss him. I seem to be in the minority though.Looking forward to seeing who all is contributing to this one.
No, he still makes pony stuff. Now you just have to pay for it.
Btw, I can take questions: I ran the book this time round. You can also ask on our main tumblr site (though, we prefer not to answer too much as we just announced it)
