Ultimately no, it doesn’t matter. I’ve seen plenty of other Cherry Blooms and people thinking that Cherry Blossom is similar enough to be the same. (Even made friends with two of these other Cherry ponies and drew one of them for the other Cherry’s owner) and it hasn’t bothered me in the slightest.
 
I have the ability to answer a question they posed. As I know when The batpony Heartbeat came about. I didn’t want to come of sounding harsh like “Yeah well, this one came about XXXX” or anything so I showed some legitimate interest into the metastory of the other heartbeat. Meta-stories about how a pony came to be can be rather fascinating. Seeing what influences played a part in the way a character develops.

Dude, Heartbeat isn’t exactly an exotic word. It’s not really coincidence that someone has a similarly named OC.
 
I seriously doubt they stole the idea from you. This OC has absolutely nothing to do with music.

Easy honey, easy, the name “HeartBeat” could be (emphasis on ‘could’) a fairly common name to some, Don’t get so wild up over the ‘same-name’ matter.

WHY?!??!?! MY OC IS NAMED HEARTBEAT AND IT’S ACTUALLY HEARTBEAT NOT SOME BATPONY THAT DOESN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE NAME!!!!  
JUST LOOK!!! SHE IS LITERALLY HAS A HEART COLOURED MANE AND LIKES MUSIC!!! THAT WHAT THE BEAT IS FOR LIKE BEAT YA KNOW LIKE THE BEAT OF MUSIC AND DRUMS!!!
