I do sometimes prop my feet up on the wall, but since legs are longer than arms the AJ position wouldn’t be very comfortable.  
Although I did try it a few minutes ago, it is possible–if I bend my legs and pull my knees into my chest–to balance a book on my toes and open hands, but I don’t think I’ll be doing exactly that any time soon.

Am I the only one who actually reads like this?  
I do have hands, so I can hold the edges of the book, but laying on my back and holding the book in the air above me. It is comfortable.

Whilst it’s a joke being going around that Applejack isn’t actually reading here (or even can’t), in a way it should be right, NONE of them should be able to read any those books, they are over a 1000 years old, try go read some early English from a 1000 years ago. Then again, maybe Celestia makes sure the written language does not change much.
