Ah. Okay. I saw it as a moveset, not a combo, and an SNK-styled combo at that.
 
Not sure if Axe Kick would be a good starter though, if we’re judging by how the picture is it’s slow and generally slow moves are dangerous if blocked, or worse whiffed.
 
Then again, I can’t combo worth a damn in any SNK fighter.

It’s more on how the human brain functions. These commands were (deliberately) done to help enhance the right sides of our brains (the side that controls the left side of the body) to right-handers like I am. Button mashing just bolsters the brain’s left side. This is the reason game devs like SNK Playmore (I’ll be their messenger to this site if you don’t mind) want us to be ambidextrous and NOT weenies.
 
I still remember watching a Ripley’s Believe It or Not episode where a kid from India (now an adult) can write separately with both hands and both feet in different languages at the same time. Please research if I’m wrong.
 
I must admit I’m not a professional gamer, but I’ve analyzed a lot of stuff and cr*p over the years. Don’t suggest to me a game; I’ve played even the less popular and forgotten (to you) ones, and the popular ones by title alone give me ulcer.

You’re confusing Axe Kick with Slash Kick, which is one of Joe Higashi’s Special Moves.
 
I’m referring to the same Command Move as Kyo, Iori, Kim and Ryo, after a Hard Punch or Hard Kick when close to opponent.
 
Again, my combo sequence:  
Close attack - > Command Move - > (Super Cancellable) Special Move - > Super Cancel into (Dream Cancellable) Desperation Move - > Dream Cancel into Leader Desperation Move (if one of 3 players is Leader)
 
Been practicing via M.U.G.E.N; Heck I’ve edited some stats of the characters I’ve DL’d.

I think I would refrain from watching anymore Japanese combo videos. They don’t drop combos for anything. Also there are certain games that don’t have overly long combos, like Divekick (they don’t have combos at all IIRC).

Those combos aren’t nearly complicated enough. (Seriously, I can’t stand how complicated combos are in a lot of fighting games; it’s why I prefer Smash Bros.)
