Recall that S2 is basically all under HXM’s control after Hasbro kicked out the studio doing S1. So the animation’s better and, like this episode, at least have more complex storylines.

Decided to watch the show for the first time.
 
I actually really like the canine characters; I think they’re a lot better characterized than the relatively two-dimensional humans. I think this show would benefit from a few tweaks in that regard, like focusing on a relatively small cast of humans as well as the “puppies.”
 
I liked the twist where the father basically revealed himself as a brony.
