Artist that you tire of

What artist have you gotten tired off? An artist that you thought was interesting but over time their art just got, a bit boring or they haven’t improved all that much.
 
for me, those artist would be Johnjoseco and ss2sonic. When I joined this fandom two years ago, their art looked pretty good. but, since then, their art still looks as the same as before. And their use of the same old “animu” expressions haven’t really done any thing to garner my attention.

Yeah, it would be cool if JJ tried something new.

Jim Lee. The dude is pretty much legend nowadays and he makes excellent heroic figures, but his art gets sop drab that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth after a while.

Joking aside. John Josesco, sort of. I’m not so much tired of his art as much as wishing he would do a bit more variety. In his humanizations anyway. The pony art is fine.

Well isn’t this thread just a fountain of positivity. Gee whizz I wonder why artists don’t like this place with such threads as these.

JJ. Sure, his art is fine, but he needs just a bit more variety. I mean, he made a trillion of pics and not a single one of Dizzy Twister? C´mon!

The Trollie McTrollenberg or some similar name. All the pics look identical and none of them look like ponies.

The artists who have lost interest in the show and openly hate the fandom but still hang around because we’re their best source of attention and money.

Yeah stagnation of style/improvement is bound to happen when an artist gets busy doing work for others, when they lack time to work on personal arting. So no surprise the likes of Ssonic2 has kind of been the same thing, JJ is a more comic-e artist so there’s only so much he can do while keeping a good production rate.
 
atryl, probably. Highly skilled no doubt, but I just don’t feel he’s ever done anything interesting with his work. I complain about that a lot actually, artists who are clearly skilled, but are just…well boring.

Yeah people who hop fandoms, I know a particular artist who did this, won’t speak her username (Whichever one she goes by now) but god damn, I wouldn’t even mind it that much if it wasn’t such obviously rushed work.

Artists have a right to complain, as do the people who enjoy art.
 
It’s just that the former make art about how much they hate the latter and everything is a clusterfuck.

Yeah, but if people don’t give the artist criticism, they’re not going to get better.
 
There’s an obvious difference between:
 
“It would be really cool to see you draw in this style/a different subject/a new design, I bet you could make it look awesome.”
 
and
 
“Why do you draw nothing but X? Draw something else.”

This thread isn’t criticism, it’s “I don’t like your style anymore and I’m tired of you”.

So basically if I’m given something for free, no matter how bad it is, I have no right to say anything bad about it and just give a fake smile? Art doesn’t work that way.
 
Sure, people post their artwork on the Internet for people to see. Some people like their style and then they don’t after a certain amount of time. It literally happens to every artist. It’s all about flavor. It’s like watching a television show and getting bored with it because every episode contains the same jokes.
 
Could some people have worded what they said better? Sure. But to say that we have no right to complain about an artist’s work, even if it’s posted for free, is absolutely ridiculous. I’m probably going to be berated for this post. Meh.

I totally agree with DT though. There’s nothing wrong with hating MLP or bronies (I hate us all sometimes). But pandering to people you hate to earn–what–minimum wage or a little more? That’s just a sad, soulless thing to do.
 
As for Atryl… my man-crush for him is just getting stronger. Every single episode-related image he’s made needed to be done, and the world is a better place for him having done it expertly.  
Everyone sees the episode and goes “oh hey, smexy cheerleaders”. Atryl says that and then does something with it.
 
He is basically my idol, and the only thing he’s ever done wrong was tell the police I violated that silly restraining order. But I forgive him.
 
 
Astronomus, there’s an important difference between criticism and shit-talking.  
Criticism is along the lines of “I think the generic style he’s fallen into is stopping him from letting his characters be as expressive as he tries to make them.”  
Shit-talking is “Eh, that guy. Same old shit. It’s good, but it’s shit, because he’s popular”.
