Big band seems to be a rarity in music nowadays.
@Applepie1973
Not that song, something else.

I feel the same way towards Christian Rock. Even though I consider myself Christian, I’m not overly religious at all and I love this subgenre of rock. A lot of great material in it.

Since it’s Alice Cooper, I shouldn’t be surprised.

Even with so many super extreme death metal and deathcore bands out there pushing the limits of what it means to make extremely heavy music, I still think that the original death metal band, Death (metal band), reigns supreme in this niche of music.
Kinda sad that was born too late to ever see them live, their performances would be even more incredible if they were done with today’s theatrics and set pieces (not that they’d need ’em).

Death werent actually the original Death Metal band, they were one of the pioneers for sure but they werent the first. Pretty sure that title goes to Possessed.

Wikipedia tells me they both started in 1983 but I can’tbe bothered to find an exact date for their formation.
Ah well, I still feel like Death is #1 in this genre.

Possessed released the first death metal full length.
Death’s first few demos back when their name was Mantas might actually be the first death metal releases altogether though.

One overlooked artist that used to be in a band but went solo is Don Henley of The Eagles. He had great material in the 80’s and it’s a shame that not a lot of people remember them.

I remember “Dirty Laundry,” “The Boys of Summer,” and “All She Wants to Do Is Dance.” That’s about it.

He also had “Sunset Grill”, “The End Of The Innocence”, “The Heart Of The Matter” and “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough” with Patty Smyth of Scandal.

Ooh, nice.
I always get Patty Smyth confused with Patti Smith, by the way. I really shouldn’t, since they’re two different artists, but they have very similar names.

Me too sometimes.
Patti Smith is from The Patti Smith Group who did 70’s punk rock while Patty Smyth is from Scandal who did 80’s pop rock.

I just recently signed and agreed to a petition online to bring Black Label Society here live in my country Philippines.

I honestly can’t choose between TSOP and Symbolic, though I learn further towards Symbolic because 1,000 Eyes happens to be my favourite song of this whole subgenre, let alone band.
