Yeah, and those are definitely flaws. I just don’t quite see how they’re deal breakers in the face of the film’s artistic and technical majesty, and chilling depiction of how this crisis would turn people into self serving animals.

My brother thought that Command and Conquer 3’s Scrin Tripod was a ripoff of War Of The World’s Tripod.
I had to explain in that, while he wasn’t wrong, the Tripod as a design is just a classic alien mech design.

I find that funny. The tripod design is one of the only things most people seem to agree was amazing from the movie… and yet no one has ever used it before now when adapting the book.
