Fifthcru5ader & MegaSweet for sure.
Not sure if Zajice or Sssonic2 are fully dead, but I still miss them none of the less.

Sssonic2 does still draw MLP things and art in general.
But they are mostly Commissions and He has commissions DNP’d here.

I think MixerMike is close to being completely burned out from the fandom. From the Ask Fluffle Puff blog:
“For those of you wondering where I am.
To be blunt, it hasn’t been a very good year so far and I seem to have lost motivation to do anything these days. The list is rather long, so I’ll spare the read and drama llamas. It sounds like there’s more drama than usual going around, anyway. Plus, the draft I typed up before this one took me almost an hour to type. And I don’t think anyone wants to read a biography of grump. :v
So, for now, I’m just going to say that I’m pretty much at the end my rope. I’m going to continue existing and attempting to relax for a little longer. Hopefully after my birthday on May 2 I’ll be in a better mood and be able figure out what I’m doing. I’m sure things will turn around by then. But until then, I’ll be sitting here and roaming around the internet and my usual profiles if you need me. ♥”

It always shocked me that someone like him who produced some of the most heartwarming, adorable art and animations online can be such a grumpy, bitter person IRL.

I understand that, but I’ve never seen another artist who is so openly grumpy as him about what he does. Fluffle Puff is literally the most saccharine sweet creature in this entire fandom, and the fact that her creator is the polar opposite is more than a little jarring.
He can do what he wants for sure, of course. We’re not paying for anything he produces, so when he decides to end the run, that’s fine. But I just wish he’d be a little happier about giving other people such joy.

The same person who made this:
Was the same person that cut off his ear and gave it to his GF. The person who bought the painting from him, thought that he must be the happiest person in the world, but he was an absolute maniac IRL.
So FluffyMixer being a grump IRL, even though he made such cute animations and characters doesn’t surprise me what so ever. lel

All I have to say is, Oh my god, Fuck you Copyright. And Holy shit, what the hell Hasbro.
This is honestly really shitty if this happens.

This is really heartbreaking. I’m in a terrible mood now after reading this. He’s currently talking to people though.
I honestly don’t care how “In the right” Hasbro May be, This just bothers me.
I know about the U.S. copyright fuckery, I understand. But It still wont change the fact that I think this is absolutely Terrible and sad. The fact that peoples work can just get censored like this. Just, Christ.
I hope we don’t have to see other people get hit with Copyright as bad as this. That being said I wish Jan the best of luck. And I’ll certainly support him on whatever he does.

Why must Hasbro insist on bullying artists who don’t make a single penny off their work? What threat did Jan pose to them? It reminds me of schoolyard bullies who push you down in the mud just for walking past them. Hasbro will answer for this somehow, even if it means voting with your wallets and refusing to buy their products.

The fact that they got him to do that animation for “The Brony Documentary” makes me sad.
They got him to do that animation! Its on DVD! And this is the thanks he gets afterwards.
Possibly Complete and utter censorship of his MLP work. He’s been literally talking with them about this copyright stuff for I think two years now!

Hasbro didn’t have much (if anything) to do with the bronydoc.
That said the situation is still bullshit, but it’s complicated bullshit.
Hasbro didn’t send the original C&D to Jan, a firm Hasbro hires to track down copyright violations did. Usually this means fake toys outright claiming to be originals, people selling shirts en-mass with show assets/logos, etc. However, these firms get bonuses for each copyright/trademark/IP violation they shut down, so they have no qualms going after little guys that pose no threat and are actually beneficial for Hasbro; again, these people aren’t Hasbro, they don’t care about anything more than a free paycheque over sending a form letter to someone on youtube.
Once the letter’s sent, though, it becomes a legal matter, and as the firm operates for Hasbro, it counts as if Hasbro had sent it. Rescinding it now means that Hasbro OKs Jan’s work unconditionally, which has a cascading effect. The need then arises to find a way to OK Jan’s work under a different framework that doesn’t invalidate the letter’s original (and true) claim that Hasbro owns MLP. And that needs lawyers.
And lawyers are (intentionally) slow. And soulless. Hasbro’s own lawyers, though they may have to get an OK in order to go after people, are still lawyers; dead inside.

You know I’ve always wondered what a legal nightmare looks like.
And Jesus Christ I’ve found one. Jeeeeesuuuuuus that sounds terrible. Is there even a way to get something like that organized?

No*.
Hasbro’s, and a lot of companies’, way of dealing with this has been “pretend it doesn’t exist”. Plausible deniability towards most forms of fanart (specifically commissions, folios, doujins, custom merch and, in this case, videos on a site that pays pennies to channel owners, though I’m not sure Jan ever used that). Go after the people that are making a business out of your IP, or are intentionally misrepresenting it for profit, and pretend the little guy doesn’t exist.
In this case “they” went after a little guy, and now he’s screwed. His choices are just accept it and move on, or get some sort of permission that applies exclusively to him (and that’s a very dark path). Hasbro can’t rescind the C&D without pretty much saying “every use by third parties of our property is allowed”.
*No because it would require a rather large overhaul of copyright/trademark laws. Fanart in general is covered under fair use. In general, but not always, and a legal firm could easily milk people out for settlements if let loose. Large overhauls take a lot of time to get through all the lawyers, and you can be sure lobbyists will screw things over completely. The US government and law, after all, are controlled and made by corporations and not its people.

If Hasbro chose to reverse the legal decision, it would be like admitting they made a mistake. That is something I suspect many companies try to avoid doing due to PR reasons.

No, it’s not just admitting a mistake, it’s dropping their claim over the IP. As soon as you wilfully allow a trademark violation you lose ownership over it. It’s why fanart isn’t targeted; what very little that isn’t protected by fair use is still beneficial for the IP, and if you target it you have to go balls deep or lose everything.
Hasbro’s outsourced IP management firm fucked them over for the chance to claim an extra 2k USD (or far less, most likely) over adding “shut down a youtuber” in their latest report.

So just as long as Hasbro or any other IP holders’ legal team doesn’t shoot you, everyone’s fine.
