Time to settle this: Starbucks, Dunkin’ or McDonald’s coffee?

As a non-american, I can only judge from what I can remember during my brief visits to the US. Doesn’t Dunkin’ only serve batch brew? That’d be a no from me. I’m an espresso person.

Mc’Donnalds coffee ain’t bad, but out of the three, I most often go for a cup at Starbucks (And that is, if there ain’t other good, local coffee shop nearby)

You are a true coffee drinker! I drink espresso too but only when I really need coffee! Is Espresso coffee?

Okay so I gotta know mods, do y’all smoke cigarettes or vape? I like a Newport with my morning coffee so just wondering.

Is it made of the dried and roasted beans of the coffea plant? Then yes, it most definitely is coffee. Some’d even call it the way of serving coffee :P

Splendidly … I mean, really. I have started drawing again and it’s been more effective than half of the meds I’d been taking. I honestly didn’t know if I could still do it. I had a stroke earlier this spring and am still trying to figure out how to use my hands and stuff like that. So, really, it’s … kind of a shock. But, it’s a very happy shock ^_^

How’s your month going?

And, yeah - the ‘my brain is rewiring itself now’ part really sucks. But the not being able to remember 2020 is a blessing. So … I’m on the fence on the whole ‘stroke good or bad?’ thing.

PS: Drawed a thing. I decided that ponies drink beer through a straw today. Because I have no idea how the ‘hoof hold’ thing even. No thank you. Straws it is.

Glad things are getting better.

No one asked, but this is the mental farting around thread so here comes some mental farting.

I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and I keep running into these things where I realize “Oh! That’s the ADHD!” and sometimes I wonder if it’s a bad thing or a good thing because sometimes dealing with people who are apparently ‘normal’ is freaking exhausting.

Personally? Like, I am particularly exhausted talking with people who don’t understand why a comment or post was deleted for Rule #0 just because they said something absolutely racist or hateful or specifically insulted someone - when it was ‘in the context’ of a wall of text screed about something else.

It feels like some times people come to support and appeal it and I say ‘because you said this racist or insulting thing’ and they go “Oh! Yeah - ok, I’ll stop doing that” and they repost their screed without the racist or insulting thing and it’s fine.

But other times we get folks who DEMAND to have their comment restored because the bulk of their point “was right” and it shouldn’t matter that they also peppered it with insults and racist barbs because of “the right”. When I point at the racist insult to folks like that, they often demand that I debate their wall of text screed like it was a master’s thesis on the expansion of 19th century capitalism because OBVIOUSLY the ONLY REASON we would delete their THE TRUTH was because I and apparently everyone else on staff disagreed with their OPINION.

Which, for me, seems to be an assumption on their part that I, or anyone else on staff, actually read anything beyond seeing the racist insults and deleted it for that. And what really happened was:

And, I wonder, is the way I look at those things an aspect of ADHD? Because for me I see the racist insult and so Rule #0 which is like “Job Done”. I don’t even read the rest of it because I don’t care.

So .. genuinely curious .. this is a part of the ‘LOOK! SQUIRREL!’ things where the racist insult is the squirrel and I can’t show someone the squirrel that they themselves put there, because they’re looking at all the trees and the window and look at that drape it’s such a nice window treatment what squirrel? Why are you being weird and pointing at the squirrel?! That racist insult was IN CONTEXT and APPROPRIATE didn’t you read THE ENTIRE POST? Maybe you didn’t understand it let me spend the next two hours of your time explaining to you HOW RIGHT I am about the use of the tag ‘bimbo’.

Can neuro-normal people not see the squirrel that they themselves put there? Is my ability to see the squirrel and ignore the rest of it a symptom of my neurodivergence? Who is the weird one here? Or are both of us weird?

Or is it that folks that upset about whether a character is a ‘bimbo’ or a ‘slut’ or are so angry about some ship even existing, that they think they are entitled to use racist insults because it’s all in the cause of tagging a character as a ‘bimbo’?

Because, for me, there’s that enormous fat racist insult there that seems to me to be what the appeal should be about. But saying ‘That is the thing that the comment was deleted for’ just absolutely doesn’t seem to be something some people can hear.

And I’m wondering if that’s me not being able to say; ‘This squirrel. This specific squirrel right here’ in a way people can hear? Or if they themselves are in some sort of ‘Squirrels are free just use them whenever you want’ universe?

Anyway, still trying to figure out what ‘ADHD means for me’, and just wondering. Because I can’t tell if I’m the exhausting one.

Sounds like you’re dealing with the average 4chan user. Trust me, you’re not the weird one. Those type of people believe they should be free to be cringey edge-lords to their heart’s content, rules be damned. They are the same people who look at Aryanne and invoke the “That’s my pony” meme. Sadly many of these people can’t be rationalized with. They will either keep whining until you threaten to ban them. Or they will keep whining until you DO ban them.

TLDR; You’re a good mod, some people are just full of shit.

I was under the impression that Ciaran was significantly older than everyone else, since he’s been on the internet since before many bronies were even born.
I met one of the other mods in real life (early or mid 20’s, around my age), and I assume he’s one of the younger ones, if not the youngest.
