I thought you just needed to write SIMON when starting a game after finishing it, just like how you play as Richter in the PSX version of SotN and as Julius in AoS.

Making a casino machine out of Castlevania was a big fat mistake, its just a middle finger to the gamers saying ‘screw you, we don’t need ya!’. Needless to say. I won’t be surprised if Nintendo buys the rights from Konami to ‘fix’(I’m using this in a good way mind you) the never ending damage they did to Castlevania.
 
The games were difficult. But I do liked them how they had some of the best creepy 8 bit music.

Played it. Was fun.

I’ve noticed there is a big time gap between Castlevania Portrait of Ruins which took place during the Second World War and the Demon Castle War(no game) which took place in 1999 when Julius Belmont allegedly ended Dracula permanently.
 
I wonder why nothing happened in between ww2 and 1999 in the Castlevania series? Keep in mind that Romania was historically under communist rule after WW2 to the 1989.

Perhaps the communist Romania just tried to pretend Dracula wasn’t resurrected?
 
Or even Dracula himself was too afraid of the communist government? XD

Dracula normally gets resurrected once every hundred years unless someone prematurely does so. Maybe there was no-one around for that.

Have you seen the trailer for the Netflix series?

I just watched all 4 episodes, it was pretty good, and well animated. The voice acting was good too. (Would’ve been nice if it had orchistrated music from the games though.) I like how they went with the cool bearded Dracula design too. I wasn’t too bothered by the violence, even though it was ironically more violent then most of the games.
 
Though, my one gripe was I think it was a li’l too heavy-handed with the “midevil church corruption” parts. (Even ommitting/changing a few things, like making Sypha affiliated with some friendly cult called “Speakers,” instead of the church, and such.) Despite showing that one nice/only-legit preist helping make holy water to help combat the monsters, as well as hinting those knife welding “priests” weren’t legit, pointing out the bishop guy’s hypocrisy, and such.
 
As a christian myself, (I’m not Amish, or anything) I actually dislike “holier then thou” religious people, and fanatics, (regardless what faith they are) witch-hunts, and corrupted churches, (like the WBC) so I’m not against that message against religious hypocrisy/fanaticsm, but it just felt too heavy-handed to the point it got kinda uncomfortable to watch at times.  
It also felt odd, as the game series was actually more neutral (and sometimes even positive) on faith.

Every Halloween, I always buy a new Castlevania game. (Last year it was “Castlevania the Adventure Rebirth” for my old Wii.)
 
This year I got “Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow,” (GBA) via WiiU Eshop, and it’s really good. I never played it before on the old GBA, I was afraid the “enemy soul” system would be too complicated, but it’s pretty easy, and they basically just work like equip items/spells like in other Castlevania GBA/DS games.
 
I just beat it, and unlocked Julius Belmont mode, which makes the game play like a retro CV game, whip, and all.

Just finished watching season 2.  
It was 8 episodes,we learnt a little bit more about Lisa,Dracula was in it a bit more and it even played bloody tears

I had a look on 4chan and I saw a thread that was talking about how a character was made a black in season 2 and of course the n word was used

Sypha fits with a Spain Spanish accent, seeing what her last name is.
 
I haven’t gotten to Season 2 yet, but hoping we’ll see Grant soon. (No spoilers!)

Season 2 was amazing!
