I just asked the question because people on the internet loves to judge things quickly over something they don’t like. Story, design, pacing, etc.
 
They are too hard to enjoy things. Sure, criticism is needed to improve, but it has changed for the worst since people love to bully people over shit they don’t like instead of actually analyzing the flaws and give recommendations on how to do better. (i.e. GOT fans bullying David Benioff and D.B. Weiss over the final season of GOT)
 
And don’t get me started on how they really want politics out of their precious stuff. Or how its detraction towards most media is gonna make it look bad in everyone’s eyes. Or how they overdemand “a GoOd MoViE”, which removes the subjectivity out of “good”.

Sure, fans can do good in some ways, but the majority’s the majority.

With complaints about lack of originality or how the creators did the passionate fans dirty by doing whatever they want, and conservatives trying to play hero and paint diversity in a bad light or glaring at a certain artstyle, it makes me worried for the future of entertainment.

Of course, that isn’t to say that video games can’t have political themes in their stories. In fact, they’re usually not very subtle when they do have them. It’s a matter of how well-handled it is and whether it feels like a distraction.

I never said they can’t, just that not all of them do, and looking for them where there is none and being upset by that makes one a dick (if it wasn’t promoted that to have them, that is. Remember, according to David Cage, Become Human isn’t political even though it has allegories to slavery and right activists).
