It’s funny how people want to take Gavin Newsom as a 2028 presidential candidate seriously when all indications suggest he’s about to oversee a dramatic rightward shift in his state a la New York in 2022 next year, even if Biden ultimately wins by a landslide.

He’ll be as toxic as Hochul is.

Honestly, I would not blame anyone in that state who decided to shift rightward— or at least, turn against a Democratic Party in that state—because of the shit implemented under Newsom’s tenure, along with how shit he is as a politician.

The man is no different from Donald Trump, AOC, Kamala Harris and Marjorie Taylor Green in terms of how bad they are for the political system, as if that system hadn’t already mostly gone to liquid shit before Trump came into office in 2016.

You’ve seen idiots like Cruz and DeathSentence bitch about how the government, through the VA, is just willy-nilly allowing hormone therapy and reassignment surgery.

Turns out a full gender dysphoria screening and diagnosis is required before either treatment or surgery can be prescribed.

It also requires that other morbidites, such as cross gender delusions from schizophrenia and other schizotypial disorders, cross gendered identities from DID, somatic illusions from a psychotic episode (borderline, Bi-polar disorder) all be ruled out.

And they have to be fully competent and lucid. Medically and legally.

So, despite what the conservative talking heads are saying. The government isn’t just chopping crazy peoples dicks off for a laugh. It’s a validated and controlled medical situation performed under specific rigors.

Knowing and accepting the facts or sweeping it all under the rug while screaming “MURRCA”. I think we know what really matters to them.

Perhaps the politicians who support gender-affirming care like this should specify that, then.

Even then, however, allowing children under the age of 15-18 to make those decisions for themselves to receive such medical treatment, or for their parents to make it for them, is incredibly morally sketchy, at best.

Even if you specified that in your post, you are still ignoring that said teens would still need to go through a long process before they start getting treatment. This doesn’t seem to be something done lightly, unlike what you are suggesting.
