isn’t flashpoint (the tv, not sure about the intricacies of the comic version) was basically barry having his cake and eating it too? parents are alive and he’s still the flash (somehow). granted, it’s just confusing how it’s all supposed to work (he’ll eventually lose all memory of being the flash/previous timeline but still have affected it/basically the same sans memories).

Well the Flashpoint the comic.  
Has Barry Allen go back in time to save his mom but he forgets that he isn’t a speedster fighting crime. And he has all the memories of being the Flash. So he remembers Bruce.
