Well, it’s not the first time they’ve done something like that in an episode. It’s not even the first time they’ve done something like that in episode centered around a holiday.
 

The non-commercial messages of Hearth’s Warming Tale and Best Gift Ever come off as hypocritical, considering the show was made specifically to sell toys.

How was Derpy named in the credits?

The show, yes, the episode itself? Dunno… Maybe, just maybe, Hasbro is trying to branch out from being just a toy company and having its IPs actually stand on their own as educational and entertainment products.

Didn’t notice those two at all, sorry. I mean the filly after Flim & Flam in the montage and the pegasus filly after the Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle cameo in the first song, plus some BG mares.
