As much as I would like to agree with your point, sometimes that stupid argument really helps me deal with some of the BS a show has. It’s definitely a shitty argument, but it’s also one of my coping mechanisms.

But it’s a shitty argument and you should stop using it. Just because something is made for a different demographic doesn’t excuse it for being shitty. That’s like me saying “Oh, the Tyler Perry Madea movies aren’t supposed to be taken seriously because they’re made for black people!”
 
Did that sound stupid and offensive? Good, because that’s exactly what using the “it’s a kids’ movie” argument is.

Half joking and half serious, is that how bronies were able to accept Diamond Tiara’s redemption so easily? My mom is mean to everyone and it didn’t turn me into a horrible person… oh wait yeah it did. D:
 
Before it happened in the show, I did see tumblr blogs and fanart where the CMC and their bullies actually got along or were friendly with each other. While that never happened with me and my list of targets, I like the idea of it happening in fiction.

I too like to wonder about what might have been. The cartoon could have been 50/50 adventure and slice of life. Or 80% adventure and 20% slice of life. Who knows if it would have had as many episodes, but that definitely sounds like it could have been an entirely different story right?
 
I dunno if Faust can’t talk about it, or doesn’t wanna talk about it, but I would have liked to hear those stories.  

 
Since this show has so many fans, I would like to see a few of them someday make a cartoon series based on what really inspired them about this one. Hopefully without getting sued into the ground by Hasbro. New characters, stories, adventures and villains, etc.

Never said I use it as an argument why something is bad, and I don’t agree with it at all either. I usually just say that to myself so I can get through something that I want to get through.

Pretty much anything I know is made for the kids demographic and there’s a lot of “WHY THIS” moments, mostly anime like Sailor Moon or Pretty Cure (my weeb is showing).

Those movies are made for a certain audience, it just so happens that the vast majority of it is black.
 
Lot’s of…comedy stuff does this, tailor-made to appeal to a small, but dedicated group. Look at Adam Sandler movies, I (like many) find them horrible. But they wouldn’t keep making them if there wasn’t an audience to make those movies profitable.

I’ve actually got a headcanon that explains why Spoiled Rich turned out the way she did - and it doesn’t revolve around her having an abusive mother, either.

Well i think it involved Hasbro.

I prefer MLPForums to Derpibooru. It’s better moderated, there’s less Faustalgia and the roleplay section is better. Nevertheless, I plan on sticking around here because I know I’ve got friends on this site.

I don’t see a lot of Faustalgia here, since most people here say that season 1 and 2 were pretty weak and don’t hold up to the new ones. Or maybe that’s just me
