It’s a competent animation. Probably a 3.5/5 at best.

Okay, I don’t want to start anything but it kinda bugs me a little when people say “I watch MLP but I’m not a brony/I don’t consider myself a brony.”
 
I guess people are allowed to call themselves whatever they want and I guess we don’t really have a true definition for the word “brony” but to me my definition of a brony is: Some one who likes and watches the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic who is not part of the target demographic (girls age 3-10).
 
But that’s just me.

Technically i am a brony, I just don’t want the label due to most bronies in my opinion being dicks, you can all call me a brony if you want, that and in my opinion a brony is an adult male and a hardcore fan of FIM.

Just let people do what they want to do and ignore things that bother you. That’s what I follow when it comes to pony.

I don’t like it when people say, “I do’t call myself a brony because a brony did this” or “Bronys are all assholes I’m just an MLP fan”
 
You can call yourself what you like, but by doing this you are reinforcing the idea of bronys being assholes by distancing yourself from them. rather than being a good example.
 
It’s generalizing of the very stupidest sort as it’s the kind you are doing to yourself!

Agreed. Painting with a broad brush helps no one.

Snowdrop is… okay. Honestly, on the whole I think the writing is better than Double Rainboom, although it leans a bit too hard on words words words at times, and the ending would have been more effective if they had expounded on Snowdrop and Luna’s relationship a bit more rather than showing them standing next to each other for a minute and then having Luna declare how important she was. On the whole it was nice, though.

Agreed, and the same goes for the whole “sane fan” thing on deviantART. Basically a bunch of people are declaring themselves “sane” and then turning around and spitting on everyone else.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with what @Roboshi said. The only way to make the fandom not look like assholes is stop acting like assholes. It’s why it always annoys me when stuff like Twilicorn or Derpygate happens and people on both sides of the argument are dicks about it.

And I’m sitting there facepalming. Seriously, if somebody rustles your jimmies, just post a “No fucks given” image macro and move on to something worthwhile.
 
Half the drama in this fandom is people complaining too loudly about the drama.
 
Also, nothing competes with tumblr for stupidity levels. I have seriously never seen so much idiocy compiled in one place before. There are few decent blogs, but on the whole…

I agree drama is the thing that irks me the most.

My unpopular (and frankly nitpicky) opinion is that I’m sick of fanon names taking priority for background ponies where canon names exist, especially on sites that are for categorizing. What is the point? All that’s accomplished by trying to keep the fanon names alive is a confusing mess.
 
Using Derpibooru as an example, “Golden Harvest” doesn’t even have half of the tags that “Carrot Top” does, and all of them are shared with the Carrot Top tag anyway. And the name of the character is Golden Harvest. The MLP wikia gets this right, even if the comment sections are always filled with “OMG WHY ISN’T THEIR NAME THE FAN NAME, GRUMBLE GRUMBLE GRUMBLE”.

Personally I think the names are a matter of personal preference, and it generally matters little as long as the characters are the same. The fanon names are still in use regardless, and they probably always will be, so they must be tagged as well.
 
I will say that I am tired of more and more extra names being piled on background ponies, it causes chaos and confusion, and people are so divided on them. Many of the new names I like better, but the old ones are so rooted that I generally still prefer them. Or I find a way to use both.
 
Also, I don’t very much like the wikia, a shame.

That would bug me more if not for the fact that the reason for it is that a lot of names got put into use by the fandom before the toys were released. I’m pretty sure “Carrot Top” was an accepted name for the character before the “Golden Harvest” toy was revealed. After calling the character one thing for months most people don’t suddenly want to switch to something else.

I can’t take credit for that. I don’t remember where I heard it, but I got it from somewhere else.

I don’t mind R63 but I dislike the “official fanon” R63 version of the mane six. (Rainbow Blitz, Elusive, etc.) They look too feminine.
 
And it’s kinda funny and ironic when someone draws humanized R63 versions of the mane six and RD will be the one that looks the least gay.

Taking a canon pony and adding a random obsession to them is a poor way to get a tumblr going.
