@LightningBolt @Vivace
I was more thinking off the top of my head when I first posted that. I’ve only ever heard of As Told By Ginger before, I know almost nothing about it.
Yeah, but this is different. They have addressed the fact that the CMC are getting older, but their models haven’t changed to reflect that. Sweetie Belle especially behaves like a young adult, not a kid, but you wouldn’t know that by looking at her current design. It irks me that they did change their behavior, but not their appearance.
The worst part about Forever Filly is that they made new character models for Zippoorwhill and her freaking DOG for the sake of the episode’s plot, but the actual CMC? Nah, let’s just keep them the same.
@Jarkes
It’s even worse because, as I said, we already have an adolescent model- the one used for Fluttershy as a filly is understood by some to be her as more of a teenager, complete with lanky legs and all. The assets exist or could be made, but status quo is God.
@LightningBolt
So there is no reason the CMC aren’t adolescents other than status quo. They even act like high school freshmen a lot of the time! In case you couldn’t tell, this does really bother me, especially because every other character has some sign of lasting change while all they got were matching tramp stamps.
@ILoveMyoozik
Yeah, that episode had the reverse problem a lot of episodes had in season 7, the episode’s premise sounded amazing, but the episode itself, while not bad, ended up being extremely underwhelming
@Prowl
The thing is, I didn’t like how both Rarity and Sweetie Belle were acting in the episode, yet the ending was really heartwarming. Not to mention that it was built on a pretty dumb premise.
@kleptomage
The idea was she was so busy with her business, she couldn’t spend enough time with Sweetie. I like “Forever Filly”, but my point stands that the CMC should’ve actually grown up.
