A purpose.
Location
Rengoku, a shrine priestess of this humble shrine that she vowed to protect from harm is faced against her used to be apprentice who had fallen into the dark. She wields her staff as warning to what will happen to him if he dared to even attack her and he knew it well. Koete, the soon to be corpse that would haunt, is growing out his claws to show that he is not afraid of his ex-master.
“Koete. Please don’t.”
“I’ve been enlightened enough to come this far. I won’t turn back.
Now or ever.”
She could see that the fox’s tricks have gotten to him and twisted him with her words of corruption. She felt anger in her heart along with sadness. Koete was like a son she never had and to see him fall this far had disappointed her greatly.
“Your “enlightenment” is nothing but corruption and lies.”
“You LIE!!”
Koete goes towards her in a mad dash with his claws ready to bleed her dry, but she closed her eyes and everything went black.
………..
A Year Passes.
Rengoku is at the grave of the fallen Koete with a few others. Only to find that the grave has a hole in it with no body under the soil.
“The fox must have done this. She must have resurrected him for her own personal gain. I made sure to put a seal on his grave, but she must be strong enough to repeal the seal’s effects. Koete didn’t deserve this. He now wanders around. A puppet to her whims.”
Rengoku said solemnly with a hint of frustration.
