In all seriousness, no animosity, no double meanings, I think people can’t let go because Hasbro keeps pushing Flash as a character despite it being painfully evident that almost nobody likes him. His cameo appearances in Season 4 were not well-received because the writers confirmed he wouldn’t show up, only for them to reveal that Hasbro insisted, thus making the writers tell fans to never take their word to be final. I understand why you’re trying to defend his role in Rainbow Rocks, but let’s face it: by citing his victimhood as a contribution, you’re really grasping at straws. Seriously, I’m not trying to offend you either.
I kind of understand where you’re coming from. There are certain beloved characters that I despise, yet I constantly see them glamorized. Sort of the polar opposite situation you have, yet of similar consequence.
Divided when Sunset was in charge of the school, remember. Also, Flash is one of the only good guys to play an instrument, most of the others only started for the showcase, and their performances were more about their acts than the actual music. “Special snowflake” as you call it, check.
Also, it the hate he gets is just plane annoying, it was never funny and will never be funny. It’s been 3 years so why can’t people just grow up and move on already?
You know what the funniest thing is? I actually don’t hate Flash. Yes, he’s a bit annoying, but I honestly blame Hasbro for that more. There’s nothing to actually hate about him as a character. It’s just that there’s nothing to like about him either. But hey, that’s just, like, my opinion, man.

Your blind to not see it. He was the one nice guy when the school was divided, it is implied he dumped Sunset because of her bullying ways, he plays guitar in a band so that shows he is skilled enough to perform and can memorize songs, and writes his own. But despite being a nice guy he is shown to have a bit of an ego with his music and can have a small attitude when provoked or bitter over an incident. But is a graceful in defeat as shown when he congratulated Twilight. Now give me the personality of a background character who has had no lines in the show, besides vinyl scratch. Go on, I’m waiting.
Are you going to explain to my uninformed self what Flash’s brilliant character is?
He showed by going from friendly with Twilight to chewing her out in less than 24 hours, and he was still a member regardless of when he got eliminated.

we didn’t need him to show how powerful the dazzling where we could have just looked at the rest of the school and he got his butt booted from the games like half way through them.

The only thing worse than haters are meaningless haters. I see no reason to hate Flash. He has more character than most of the background characters everyone loves so much. He is a good guy and I’d take a “flat personality” like his over a loser one like yours.
