Persona 4 Arena is easy to get into for beginers. Also Them’s Fihtin’ Herds uses the same engine as Skullgrls so that can be a good place to start too and it has an excellent tutorial.

In all fairness, they still plan to add the goat, it’s just that with the stretch goal it’d be free to backers.

Remember, not only the first 6 but also the would be expanded roster and their MLP equivalents. To get them all with the same level of quality, is and will be an uphill battle. Not that I care because I like TFH as is.

Even if they doubt anyone will be able to mod it, do they specifically discourage modders? I guess the engine restrictions could be enough to discourage people from modding it, but I’m sure some would still try.

yeah, you could work plenty with what little we knew of Paprika, some of her attitude shone through her original sketches, and hers, Oleander’s and Pom’s initial character info shone a ton of light on their personalities, especially Pom’s. Oleander also had a few pics of her interacting with Fred that showed plenty of their relationship and personality
 
Tianhuo only got that she’s honorable, brave, dutiful, loyal and comes from a proud race and she’s a high ranking captain that got there through her own merits, and her character sheet didn’t really show off how her wings and hair work in a dynamic way.
 
Here’s what we originally knew of her before Lauren dropped more hints of her race:  
For certain she is an intimidating sight, emitting stoic confidence, but not a hint of arrogance. She has no disdain for her opponents. In fact, she greatly admires skill and strength and cannot enjoy a duel unless she faces a combatant who offers her a challenge… and it takes quite a combatant to stand up to her bat-winged, aerial attacks or the force of fire she is able to magically conjure when she reaches her greatest speeds. Indeed, not many are even able to get past the daggers that shoot from her fiery, dragon eyes when she stares you down. No one is more disciplined, no one more determined, and even the Predators’ Champion should beware.
 
I think people initially had problems to relate to her because they were expecting a Rainbow v2, and instead got the noble half dragon warrior
 
Once we get to actually read how she speaks and acts to get selected as key bearer, there will be more fanart for her

You can be sure that she will get more fanart once they release her lore and she gets “screen time” on the streams

Eh, 3D is different enough as a medium so that most consumers know it isn’t from Hasbro. 2D games like this, on the other hand, look a lot more similar to show style. Though I’m not sure if they would bother unless the mod became wildly popular. (And I imagine it wouldn’t be easy to just map one TFH character’s move set to one of the Mane 6…)
