@Gamma Deekay@the-furry-railfan Receives criticism, responds negatively, turns it around upon the individual who brought up said constructive criticism…
In response, I would like to state as politely as I can, that if you decide to take my informative and constructive criticism as “antagonistic” then that is your issue. I honestly have no issue with either of you, or your art. That said, you are producing art of a subject - in this case military hardware - that I happen to be passionate about. If you err, then so long as I respond in a polite and informative/ constructive manner, I have every right to do so as per this site’s rules; regardless of whether you agree with what I say, let alone act upon the information I may present. Thus, my suggestion is to please learn to accept the feedback you receive with a little more grace and humility, because there is nothing above a little criticism. I sincerely wish both of you good health and all the success you deserve.
The barrel has actually been cut down to near half size to keep it versatile enough for air combat, as well as urban engagements. Hispano is, as stated, a bit smaller than your average 14 year old Griff.
So, this specific gun in my story has a reason to exist as seen here. Sure, it would be neigh impossible to use a gun like this in the real world, but The Furry Railfan already pointed out this ain’t the real world. You’ve made your opinion known, and you’re entitled to it. We too are also entitled to our own opinions, and you don’t have to read my stories if you don’t want to. However, I’d say that since neither side of us are going to budge on this, it would be best for all of us drop any further responses, as they’d only be there to be antagonistic.
@cdpaliden
It’s not as much the criticism that prompted me to reply, moreso the fact that when I did it was extremely late at night and I wasn’t thinking particularly straight.
Regardless, I would like to just ask that the next time you feel the need to point out the fallacies in any weapons I may feature in my artwork, or to argue about the effectiveness of armored vehicles, you don’t. Please, just let such things as this cannon or the two-century-old tanks that will be featured again be, and leave your thoughts about why these things shouldn’t work at all to yourself.
Your inability to take any sort of criticism without becoming as scathing as lye aside, the fact that the canon weighs 100+ Lbs unloaded was dismissed because of the setting’s inherent use of magic to make things more manageable. Actually, the two things that really set me off was the magazine - not a clip - appears to be on the wrong side of the weapon. Second, barrels don’t work that way, especially on this weapon - you’re forgetting the recoil mechanism completely on this Mk II - so even if you could just screw on more barrel without compromising accuracy, this weapon would kick itself apart.
@cdpaliden
is a work of fiction, not being written by myself, I just drew the picture for the author. You can nitpick and whine all you want about the fact that a Hispano-Suiza Mk II 20mm autocannon would be nigh impossible for someone to carry let alone shoot reliably, and while you’re at it why not question the very existence of talking gryphons and equines in a colorful magical world.
