Actually, come to think of it, Aj gets worfed ALOT. Like in Issue 1 during the changeling fight she was basically just dogpiled by changelings and yelling to do something the entire time. at least she held her own for a couple pages this time.

Its a one step forward and two steps back thing. Even if small improvements are made (the S5 premier was good in spreading things around), the fact that they keep running backwards shows they really have no intention of changing their direction.

I like how AJ’s hat fell perfectly onto Rainbow’s head.

To be fair, that was a reflection of MMC where “Starswirled’s” spell forced the other 5 to give some of the power of their elements to Twilight for her to become a princess without any of their consent.
 
Then the full subversion of that MMC trope in the same movie was when the 5 willingly gave that power to Sunset, and she ascended into an angelic being by actually earning that power and trust. And even though the focus was on the Humane Six, and unlike a badly written Twilight Sparkle episode, the others had time to shine like RD pony-ing up and making a plant monster her bitch.
 
I’ll admit to being scared about how they’ll do the finale, but don’t be too much of a negative nancy on the other stuff. Improvements have been on the rise.

I feel exactly the same way. God I hope they don’t screw the pooch on this one’s finale, but I know our worries are justified. MLP finales have been a nexus of incredibly badly written Twilight worship.

I know what you mean. But to be fair, that line was mostly satire. Twilight’s status of ‘superman’ of mlp is now mostly in its self-mockery phase in the show and comics, to contrast how they took it seriously in S4.

Iron Will’s iron glutes have more power than Princess Peach’s.
