I thought it was pretty clear: Lyra (or rather, the artist) listened to music with the Dolby Headphone sound processor, expected the virtual spatialisation to make it sound like really being there, but instead only got an echo-y effect, like setting up a 5.1 speaker system in a tiny bathroom.

At least that’s how I read it.

its kind of confusing, but what i imagine is that they expected to see a cleaner sound with the headphonnes, but they got is that the sound now comes from various directions
