Totally. instead of “you eat what you like and I’ll eat what I like”, it’s turned into “I’ll eat what I like and OMG you’re eating something I don’t like! HOW DARE YOU! REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY I AM EMOTIONALLY BROKEN NOW, YOU ARE BEING RACIST/SEXIST/VEHICALIST!” and then the other thing gets removed, but that only makes the ONE NOISY person happy, while the several hundred thousand people who aren’t selfish idiots are forced to lose out on it.

I wonder if there’s ever gonna be an episode where some pony is forcing everypony else to cater to Fluttershy’s wants and needs (while at the same time, not giving her a chance to object or voice her opinions).

Yeah, but Fluttershy herself realized that and let her friends, continue to celebrate Halloween without her, without forcing them to bend to her will, which is pretty much what pc society today is turning into.
 
I thought this episode was a good lesson for kids, that everyone just simply can’t enjoy the same things in life and it’s okay not force yourself to like it or to have anyone force their enjoyment on you.  
You can do what you like and they can do what they like, simple!
 
I could personally connect with this episode since it reminded me of my friend, who when we were kids, was really easy to scare, she hated scary movie and just didn’t want to participate in anything horror related, but me and my other friends kinda forced her to watch a horror movie and later go into a hunted house.  
We felt really bad afterwords, for we could see how much she was suffering , in the beginning we thought it would be fun to just to hang out and that she would eventually come around, but she didn’t and we felt awful as friends because we could see how much she was forcing herself for us, not to break down in tears. So we decided to find the nearest emergency exist.  
Since then we never forced her to participate in any horror related events.

She didn’t angrily force her moral ideas onto others and try to get the entire event cancelled by the police, so no, she’s not tumblr.
