One Naruto was not all about hard work persevering over natural talent; it was that you could not do everything on your own. Two Both Naruto and Sasuke defied fate when both of them still lived after one trying to kill the other. Three from a story telling point Kaguya is a bad final boss due to there not being any good hints, but in universe that just means Zetsu did his job right since no one new about her until it was too late. Also Naruto never forgave anyone he just broke their wills and question their ideals if you think about it he was a good Madara.
 
Didn’t mean to type this much, but for the story if Spike should just melt or bite through the bars. However that might make sense unless there was a reason he cannot that I missed.

Aye. Discord didn’t get a medal after Tirek was defeated. He was just cleaning up the mess he himself caused. To punish Cadance and Twilight just because Chrysalis betrayed her ally Sombra after doing all this to the ponies would be… distasteful. My daughter(?) doesn’t deserve something like that yet.

Why would they reward her for acting for her own selfish interests? Nothing especially noble about that. She would still be a criminal, not a heroine.

Given how Chryssy reacted to the mention of the Umbrum (and how did she know about them? I had the idea they were some big bad secret that only Sombra, Hope, and Amore knew of), I predict right now that she’ll end up freeing the Mane Six and turning on Sombra.
 
Which with luck will lead to an issue where she gets both her freedom and rewarded in Canterlot at some big ceremony. And Twi and Cadence have to present the medal to her.

Is it just me or do someone else sense some Metal Gear Solid vibe on this arch!?

Nitpicking: according to the show he could sense a “magical imbalance”, which is shown to be what happens when magic is transferred out of a pony.
 
I saw no such magic transfers in this comic so far.

Discord can sense magic as minor as a single pony getting drained of their magic; you’d think he’d be able to sense a battle between several alicorns, Sombra, Chrysalis, and an army.

well, presumably Discord doesn’t know. The crystal empire is a decent ways away, and the only outside means of communication is sending letters to celestia/luna via spike.

Has the comic explained why Discord isn’t curbstomping these two? As lazy and trolling as he is, after Twilight’s Kingdom, he would never let this happen if he could stop it.

You’re right about that point. However, it also shred the idea that you can go against fate to pieces by making them just reincarnated versions of Kaguya’s grandsons, i.e. fated to play these roles. And it tried to hammer in that nopony is above forgiveness even as it introduced new villains we’re supposed to despise in place of the Uchiha. It was… pretty bad.
