That’s not how you spell:
“reoccurring villains”
@Mrmildock
@noobiestbrony
I agree with you all completely.
It’s such a shame Equestria Academy didn’t turn out to be a tv series because as IHateThatHedgehog said The Dazzlings would have made perfect recurring antagonists. I just loved how they didn’t fit in with the whole Friendship and Tolerance messages the show teaches.
@noobiestbrony
@Mrmildock
There’s always room for another appearance where they stop by Crystal Prep to find a way to restore their amulets. All I’m saying is, a comeback tour shouldn’t be out of the question over at Hasbro. Something where the potential for future villainous appearances is opened. During that period of time where I thought “Equestria Academy” was a EQG TV show and not a foreign alternate title for RR, I thought the Dazzlings would be perfect recurring antagonists, since they’re evil enough to take seriously, but also funny enough that their position as the recurring antagonists who fail time and time again, yet keep at it anyway, is deserved, especially when bigger threats emerge during season premieres and finales.
I still think it’s a great idea and Hasbro should get on it. After all, my favorite villains are the ones who can at once be gut-bustingly hilarious, and still be spine-chillingly evil (why else do you think my username references Dr. Ivo Robotnik for, eh?) and that’s why the Dazzlings I think should be in more stuff, because they’re to me everything a truly great villain should be, compared to other “serious threat” villains so far, like, say, Tirek, Sombra, pre-redemption Sunset or Ms. Cinch, who are too serious, and therefore not very interesting.
WHEW Well, goodness gracious me, I went and did a filibuster again.
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
@noobiestbrony
100% on that. I know some people want them redeemed but I think it’s just not right. There are villains that need to just stay villains, and the Dazzlings are just that. Besides can you see these three acting good anytime soon? No, not even the blue one is redeemable. It would take away from the joy of what made these three so fun, and just would be another discord story. At that point as BlazingDazzlingDusk said, I’d rather they be scrapped for good than to just turn good.
@IHateThatHedgehog
I agree with you both, 100%. Seeing them redeemed would be kind of awkward and out of character for them. Right now, we don’t know what the writers have planned with them, but one thing’s for sure, there’s no way they can just be a one time villain like Chrysalis, Sombra and Tirek. They are arguably the most popular villains, anyways, and my personal favorites, out of all villains and antagonists.
I don’t want them redeemed either, it just wouldn’t feel right and it would take away quite a lot of their appeal. I would rather they stay evil and not come back at all rather than if they were to come back and be reformed.
You’re right, they should of stopped by at Crystal Prep first!
That’s why, me personally, I don’t like the idea of them being redeemed. They’re so good at being bad, why ruin a winning formula? They’re my favorite antagonists in the series by far, and to turn them good feels cheap.
The other villains who were redeemed, it made sense. It worked with Sunset because not only was the potential already there, but also because she became an infinitely more fascinating character when she became good. Discord’s, at first was slightly baffling, but they spent time with it, making it a full-fledged character arc that led to him still being the same-old troublemaker at heart–he’s just not a jerk about it anymore…sometimes, and even then, he gets better. I don’t think I need to explain Nightmare Moon’s, do I? Compare that to Chrysalis or Tirek, where the idea of redemption seems almost comical in its futility. No, I have no problem with how Chrysalis is portrayed in the comics, why do you all ask?
If they did redeem the Dazzlings, there wouldn’t be the time needed to truly make it work, in the timespan of a movie, and, character-wise, it makes no sense, since it’s pretty obvious they all enjoy what they do (yes, even Sonata; there’s my other problem–if you can’t take ‘em all, its no deal).
Forgive my doorstop of a comment, but it’s an idea that I’ve been debating with myself for awhile. I hate to add to it further, but as a side note, if they had gone to Crystal Prep first, absorbed all the VERY EASY to gather hatred to be gathered there, then transferred to Canterlot High, things might’ve turned out very differently in Rainbow Rocks. :)
They put us all under their spell, that’s for sure.
@BlazingDazzlingDusk
They sure do. And that’s fine with me. I enjoy them being bad.
That’s the perfect way to describe them, they just enjoy being bad so much.
(You’re)
Your not alone my friend.
Yeah, you better run! Take your…whatever that is and scat! Now, let’s get you home, @Mrmildock, before any further…mishaps can occur.
(Calls for Tyran; saddles up and rides away.)
(Transforms into a Tapejara and flys away)
No!
Mrmildock!
I will find a way to save all of you!
And when I do,you’ll all thank me in the end!
T-thank you.
Not good, not good! Ladies, we’ve a slight emergenc. Mildock losing his grip. Will play recording of song to reinstate control. Over and out.
Now, Mildock, ol’ buddy ol’ pal. (Music starts playing–put your favorite Dazzle hit here) If you think about it, it’s pretty awesome being a robot. How many people do you know who to become cybernetic supersoldiers? Not many, I tell you what. And slave! Slave is such a dirty word. You and me, we aren’t any underdogs or lackeys. We’re their partners in this, you hear me? The five of us are gonna rule all the worlds together, as partners! I need you to be strong and ignore this mere background pony’s gibberish.
I’ll talk to Dagi and see if she can’t lighten up on the food regimen a little. She can be a bit overbearing (she didn’t get the nickname Mamadagio for nothing, yknow) but if she’s being that strict, it just means she cares…in her own detached siren-like way.
But Adagio forces me to eat my vegetables before I get dessert. She makes me go to bed at 9:00. Why does she and Aria get to stay up while Sonata and I have to go to bed early? I’ve been mistreated for so long, shoved in a locker for my failures, and now I’m a robot. I’m a s-slave to them. I m-m-must save the ……help me……world from their grasp.
DON’T BELIEVE HIS LIES!
Everyone knows the light side doesn’t believe in sweet stuff. Why do you think the dark side gets cookies and tacos and all that stuff? The light side won’t take ‘em. It’s fanatical about stuff like Atkins.
In other words, no cupcakes.
The light side gets all the boring food that’ll keep you healthy but tastes like rubbish.
The dark side gets all the delicious food that, okay, it’ll rot your teeth, increase your waistline, and increase risk of cardiovascular failure–but think of the cupcakes, Mildock. Think of the cupcakes.
Will there be cupcakes?
I can help you,man.
Join me……and together we can be stronger then the Dazzlings and we can save our world from them.
This is the only request you’ll ever get from ME.
