“…But nopony had considered the one fault in the magic seal; should another being return the Pear-Ender to her rightful form, then her power could be restored….
She need only bide her time until a careless deity cross her path.”

For the record Sunred is the story of a retired superhero named Sunred, who basically mooches off his girlfriend who works as an insurance salesperson. The humour comes from the fact that the villainous organisation Florsheim is made up of terrifying monsters who are unfailingly polite and helpful, while Sunred himself is rude and kind of a jerk (spending most of his time playing pachinko). The leader General Vamp, for example, is an expert cook and on great terms with Sunred’s girlfriend.

My favourite moment was when a second evil organisation tried to take of Florsheim’s turf and Sunred couldn’t be bothered to stop them, and when his girlfriend complained that the Florsheim monsters will get massacred he tells her he effortlessly defeats them not because they’re weak, he’s just too strong for them.

Sounds similar enough that I’ll give One Punch Man a shot. Thanks for the summary.

I’m not familiar with Sunred, but One Punch Man is definitely comedic in nature.
Saitama is an average guy who took heroism as a hobby and trained so hard that he became able to defeat any menace effortlessly, which caused him to grow bored as a result (to put things in perspective, here’s the opponent that Saitama fights in the first chapter, here’s the outcome in the very next frame, and here’s Saitama’s reaction).
Unlike the usual shounen where the hero seeks to become stronger to defeat his opponents, Saitama is already so powerful that his main problem is to find a challenging opponent he could fight without holding back.
Also, because of his unassuming appearance and lackadaisical attitude, he hardly gets any recognition for his heroic deeds, which sometimes comes to cause him problems (like when a group of bald terrorists are rampaging through the city and he gets mistaken for one of them).
Besides, the story also contains a great gallery of characters (heroic and villainous) coming in a wide range of power levels and quirks, as well as a lot of epic and/or funny moments, which makes it pretty enjoyable altogether.

No. he’s pretty much indestructible, having no-sold getting punted to the Moon from Earth. He’s also superfast, has some pretty good senses, etc.

He’s basically your classic comic book flying brick if they couldn’t fly. The selling point of OPM is that it’s basically a Superman comic if Superman gave zero fucks about the weird shit around him and suffered an existential crisis about being so strong nothing challenged him.

Wait, seriously? I don’t follow the series, but I was under the impression he was sort of like the Spirit i.e. he absorbs massive amounts of punishment and keeps on coming, but he’s still very much human. The Spirit is tough and can take anything gangsters like the Octopus can dish out, but against someone truly superhuman like Doomsday or Magneto he’d be torn apart.

Wasn’t that similarly the big selling point of One Punch Man? He can finish a fight with one punch, but he needs to actually deliver that punch first?
