Twilight: slurring diiid I win? Did I eat the Cheerios?
Zecora: what the hell is she…uh? you won twilight!!
Twilight: this is for you king ghidora!
Zecora:…lets get you to a hospital
Twilight: I LOVE YOU PEANUT BUTTER!!
I think word ‘Zibba’ sounds better.
Translation: Zigga stole my bike!
Oh, I see. Thanks! :)
Honestly, though, I think that should be explained on the tag page. :|
It’s a site “You’re the man now dog!” that used to be a dump of user-created memes.
You’re the man now, dog!
I guess the homage is lost on people who care more about old memes than old games (and I admit I’m one of those, sorry, I’m probably born too late).
It’s awful when someone misinterpreting your creation, i know that wasn’t your intention bring back the meme but don’t you mind if i animate this? you know…
stole my bike
I see Zecora as Sunset Shimmer before Sunset Shimmer, but within the same as age bracket as Harshwhinny and Peachbottom.
My comment was more unique, as Maney is a pun of a recent boxing superstar, and I never played Punch-Out!.
This is not my intent at all, but I don’t fault anyone for making that connection and assuming I was implying Zecora is a “nigga” stealing Twilight’s bike.
This is homage to the episode Magic Duel where Twilight was embraced by Zecora to focus her powers to defeating Trixie. She went through many rigorous trials and tests, and grew tremendously because of Zecora’s assistance, making her a “personal trainer” to Twilight. Since the theme of the 30 Minute Art Challenge was “boxer ponies” I wanted to use a classic scene from my childhood, as I don’t really have a lot of knowledge of other boxing-related pop culture references to immediately sample from, so I went with the one I was most familiar with, Mike Tyson’s Punch Out for the NES.
This is an homage to the episode Magic Duel, a crossover with one of my favorite video games growing up, and was submitted as a 30 minute art challenge. This is no way is intended to be latching onto the “nigga stole my bike” meme, which I will agree with those who have stated below and elsewhere, is a pretty dumb meme that has aged very poorly since its popularization on the SomethingAwful years of Internet culture.
It aged so poorly that I never once remembered its very existence while conceptualizing and illustrating this image.
@Questionmarktarius
@BigBuggyBastage
We were all thinking it XD
Damn! Ya beat me to it. :3
Gotta love the old memes.
