So I thought it was time those horseshoe fries from the Twilight Time episode deserved a proper defictionalization. Every one of these was shaped by hand, from a recipe I created from scratch. They’re delicious.
@phat_guy
As it turns out, they were just regular burgers - however, I might suggest loading up some veggie burgers with alfalfa and bean sprouts for that grassy, crunchy texture, if you want to make your own.
@Barhandar
1 cup mashed potato flakes, ~1Tbsp cornstarch (probably a bit more), 1Tbsp margarine, 1/3 cup milk, 2/3 cup water, dash salt, spices (sorry, this is a secret ingredient - choose your own!). Heated water and margarine until melted, not boiling, then stirred in the other ingredients. Chilled dough VERY well before shaping, then froze the fries before brushing them with oil on both sides and baking at 350F for about 25 minutes, flipping once. Didn’t trust them to hold together without that freeze cycle, and I’m not keen on throwing frozen things in a deep fryer.
They came out crispy, but soft in the middle, and had about as much structural integrity as Arby’s curly fries. Not bad, considering!

On another note, I’m hungry now >.>
