Having studied Russian for two years, it throws me off too. Then it makes me angry, but let’s not get into that.
I think the downvotes might be attributed to the fact that there are indeed people (like me) who are sick to death with all the “Solar Empire/Lunar Republic” crap. But I didn’t realize at first that you also didn’t care for it. So in short, just a bit of a misunderstanding there :)
