All the Elements have trouble really living their element. Rarity is inherently materialistic. Twilight, the element of Friendship (yes, they call it Magic, but Friendship is Magic) was a friendless shut-in whose only meaningful interactions before adulthood were with her older brother and a much older teacher. Rainbow Dash is constantly torn between her friends and her life’s goals. Fluttershy’s got a mean streak wider than Angel’s, just better hidden. Applejack’s nowhere near as honest as Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie goes into deep depression any time she senses the slightest disinterest in her activities.
 
That’s why it means something to be those elements. They each have to work at it, and do work at it.

Judging from the comments, there seems to be some kind of bias going on with the creator of this image. However, on its own, this image does make a good point.
 
Rarity gets a lot of unfair criticism from the fans, but what REALLY takes the cake is when ‘Rarity Takes Manehattan’ first aired and the haters were all like “Wow! Rarity is actually being GENEROUS for once!” Seriously, are these people even watching the same show as I am?

I don’t hate Pinkie though, made note of where this came from in my comment and she’s actually third best pony. So no, you don’t get to come around here accusing us of hypocrisy. Regardless of the trollish source for this everything listed here is true.

If you are serious with this and are truly upset that some people don’t like Rarity or hate her, then just keep in mind that you are no better yourself. You are obviously a hater too.

Well if it was from a less obvious Troll account this kind of slap down of Rarity haters would be my jam.
 
Rarity Haters are fucking ridiculous sometimes, they seem to hate a completely different character than the one who is actually shown in the show. Like I was reading the FIMfiction comments on the latest episode and I came across come guy bashing her because she was “stupid” and “was being a know it all bitch who shouldn’t of even been involved in the situation because it was their private business”. Totally ignoring of course, that generally Applejack was just with or telling Rarity about what she was feeling. She was playing the role of Confidant to her best friend basically, who she only wanted to help feel better. If Applejack hadn’t wanted her thoughts on the situation she wouldn’t of repeatedly talked to her about it.
 
And this kind of thing just goes way back, iv seen people somehow use Suited for freaking Success as evidence of Rarity’s vainity and greed, or of course people laying all the blame on her for everything that happens in Sisterhooves Social.

Well to be fair she does have some pretty bitchy moments. But that doesn’t keep her from being my favorite.
