In my headcanon the princesses weren’t born as alicorns and later earned that title, just like Twilight and Cadence did, only that the spell that was used was stronger, making the sisters pretty much immortal. All part of the NextGen stuff I am planning. Yup, I’m jumping on that bandwagon and create my own nextgen :D”
