The movie is actually pretty good! An adaptation with a capital A, but the original story is so long that unless it was two to three 3 hour long movies, it couldn’t cover everything, and so much weaves into the other. If you don’t feel like reading a long book, watch the movie and see if you like it, then read the book for the ‘TRUE’, story.
A movie based on a book. I know the story. That was my second thought.
Better to read a book first. Original is always superior to adaptations!
It’s from a move “The Count of Monte Cristo”. Very good movie. Go watch it.
