That could be explained by what I call the Observer Principle, and others probably have a better name for, in which the current Timeline remains unchanged until the Time Traveler/Observer has left the past. That however leaves the problem of Starlight’s going to the past and not leaving, as that should mean that the past remains unchanged due to the Observer Principle, but it can be argued that only one time-traveler is needed for the changes to occur once the past has been altered.

Yeah; I would’ve thought the deliberate imprisonment and brainwashing/psychological torture of an entire town, including children possibly subjected to it from birth, would be a much bigger mark.

Are you sure? The original timeline didn’t stop existing when Twilight and Starlight first went back; we see Pinkie come in and eat the cake.

…She wasn’t trying to create a bad future, just ruin Twilight’s friendship. She didn’t believe their friendship could have such a big impact.

Except those futures technically never happened now.

To be fair, those futures were clearly redacted and unstable.
