Chatoyance: “A middle-aged woman enamored of a new online game called ‘Equestria Online’ confronts what permanent emigration to Equestria - uploading to a virtual existence - really means… but can she even hope to truly understand such a thing - and more importantly, can she trust the artificial intelligence known as ‘Celestia’?”

I’d believe that, if she wasn’t an absolute dick about criticism.
basically she set up a tissue thin convert-the-evil-humans scenario, then spent >9000 pages showing how that’s all a bunch of meadow muffins. she has a scary passion for humanity, actually.
similarly, her optimalverse story here has a truly inscrutable celestia. never in the story is it shown that what the computer is doing is good, only that it’s inevitable. you could miss that, with how much of the story talks about how uploading could be good, but there’s always that uncertainty whether what you’re getting is what could be.
Star Destroyer got into the whole Chatoyance hate thing?
@JDoraime
It’s because she is evil.
Don’t even mention She who must Not be Named. You can get banned on Spacebattles, Stardestroyer, or Sufficient Velocity just for bringing her up–just MENTIONING her is enough to derail threads. The thread-derailing ability also exists on 4chan and FIMfiction, and apparently here too.
Ah, thanks. Haven’t heard of that one either, apart from when I looked up the tags for this pic.
The Super Saiyan Grey Goo that eats the universe was only in the epilogue. Seems to have been shoved into the end there by the original author to get people to stop rooting for CelestAI. Didn’t work.
This is a side story, but written by a massive misanthrope known as Chatoyance. She’s most well known as the primary driving force behind the Conversion Bureau fics.
O-kay… that sounded a bit random.
This is the pony matrix. But the main computer eats the whole universe via gray goop. The humans who accepted the contract to upload their mind keep their psychological quirks

@Sandblast
Could you guys give me some context?
