I await the day the fandom goes gaga over Starlight Glimmer. :D Until then, I shall stick up with her. Gotta say, Silver Spoon is my reaction to this. I never thought I would love a two parter more than Twilight’s Kingdom, but it found a way.

I thought my reaction was gonna be Twilight, but my reaction was Maud, instead.

It was rushed, that’s the biggest problem. This could have been a triple-length episode and the writing would have had a lot more space to fit in everything comfortably.
 
This show has a terrible track record of two-parters that run out of time and sprint to the ending. Like, literally every single one. Every time.

I think the “you’re our friend now” ending felt meh, but the rest of the episode was pretty damn good, especially part 1.

This show is written more than a year in advance, criticism by the time we get to it is pointless. They don’t read it anyway. Most of the criticism I read is whiny and stupid anyways.

I’m close with Silver Spoon. I found this episode to be really fun with the facial reactions by Starlight and the interesting alternate universes. They were pretty dark alternate scenarios that all resulted from Rainbow Dash not doing that sonic rainboom. I didn’t expect that all those things would have happened from that one event not happening. I would agree that Starlight Glimmer’s forgiveness was a little quick, but I’m really glad that Twilight didn’t use some magical power to redeem her. Talking Starlight out of doing more harm is the best way that could be done. Everything was all right in the end so having Starlight seeing what would happen if she messed with the timeline was a good enough punishment for her. Sometimes a little slap on the wrist is good enough. Twilight’s Kingdom is still my favorite episode of the show but this is still great regardless! Now I’ll just look at some more yuri to pass the time until Season 6 starts.

Was Silver Spoon at the first 40 minutes, then started sliding into Maud when the end part hit.

Yeah. This episode got mixed reactions from the fandom for good reasons.

I rarely see Maud’s reaction nowadays.

MLP is seriously going downhill with the writing. It’s very important for the show that things make sense
