That’s something actually kinda cute about those two… They’re dishonest and can be non-physically ruthless, but they’re also very loyal to each other and have a strong bond. I’d kinda like to see that played up at some point.
 
Oh my goodness… I’d kinda love to see Starlight or any of the princesses interact with them! Xp
 
Starlight knows a thing or two about manipulating crowds… And the princesses would be an interesting foil, able to see through them.

They have combat robots of varying sizes, including a Jaeger of their own design called Grifter Foxtrot. (The drift was no issue, they were practically thinking in unison for most of their lives anyhow.)

Or, this could be a world where no villains ever showed up, making friendship and its champions unnecessary. I mean, a world without a looming threat would spiral into consumption and decandence, right? Global peace scares me.

I don’t think Flim & Flam were necessarily rulers in their timeline, just that they were tearing down trees because they are just part of some, I dunno, “evil corporations ruin the enviroment” future. Heck, that could still happen even if Celestia defeats all the villains anyway: the thing that destroys Equestria is the Equestrian society and economy itself.

Yeah, as if the world was left in disorder after the big players wiped each other out, or at least weakened enough to leave a power vacuum for these two. Everypony would follow someone promising them peace and order.

Am I the only one who doesn’t think Flim and Flam were actually responsible for the destruction in “their” timeline, but just a symptom of it?

Headcanon accepted: They won this timeline by successfully pitching their ideas to Celestia, creating a booming industrial sector in Equestria.
 
Nightmare Moon had already been defeated by Celestia finding another way.
 
The war with the Crystal Empire was over in days when Sombra’s armored ponies went up against armored tanks with machineguns. Chrysalis’ bugs met flak and flamethrowers, Tirek discovered firsthand what chemical weapons smell like, Discord, in light of these threats, was thrown into a volcano, and Starlight… She’s still mayor of some small colony/village in the middle of nowhere that hardly anypony know exists or even cares about. CIA has a few tabs on her, though, will probably have her overthrown by starting a radio station in her town.
