The only official statement on Star is on Enterplay’s Facebook. I’d presume if there will be a future comment by Hasbro’s affiliates, it’ll be after the series has ended for thirty years, made by the CEO to his cat in an old folks’ home. XD

@Digitalgame: “Tyrant Celestia” is non-canon. And we don’t even know if anything introduced in the TCG would make its way to official media, or whether said official media is the show, comics, or even the chapter books.

Due to the name, this is what would happen if Celestia accepted the bargain for the Nightmare forces.  
The comics show that the force that made Luna into Nightmare Moon is a separate sentient force that can make deals that grant great power at the cost of making the recipient evil.

It would have been interesting to see an alternate timeline ruled by a tyrannical Celestia (probably under the effects of the Alicorn Amulet trying to subdue Nightmare Moon).
 
Everyone calls her Nightmare Star, but I’d call her Hellfire Sun.
