This actually ties in nicely with my own headcanon regarding unicorn horns: There’s a small second brain in there designed to do most of the heavy lifting when violating the laws of physics, much in the same way a child’s brain can subconsciously perform the calculus needed to predict the path of a ball. This “cornic lobe” was what dragged Rarity to her destiny, and is responsible for the slightly higher rate of insanity in unicorns. Starlight could’ve achieved conscious awareness of hers, which would help explain her ridiculous magical power.

Starlight’s accuracy may be the most ridiculous part of the episode. She nailed a pegasus who was about to break the sound barrier in one shot.
