Well, unless you somehow knew what X was.
Hence it is unsolvable
Many things in this equation cancels out almost immediately.
We are using the show’s standards; algebra is far beyond that.

That is probably because the result is an equation, rather than a value; those numbers would make the denominator equal to zero, causing division by zero, which is why they are not possible answers. Ultimately, this breaks down to
(x-10)(x+1)(x-2)(x+2)/
(x-2)(x+3)(x-1)(x+1)
which further simplifies to
(x-10)(x+2)/
(x+3)(x-1)
Also, the only reason -2 is not an answer is due to the left side of the equation.
The first one seems (to me) to be “÷” sign though.
It looks more like aa “•” to me and that would make it a multiplicational.
