Ah, the muddy color with opacity controlled by pen pressure. There’s 2 ways you can work that out:

Use a softer brush (air brush)
Constantly sample color from all the light/transition/shadow, and gradually smooth out the transition. Quick example:

Well, the legs should be shaded as cylinders, not spheres. The sphere model is better for the flank, chest and head. Try drawing cylinders connected like legs would be and shade them.
