She is not actually stupid in general in the movie, she has two problem. One is she easily distracted by things (lunch, fruit punch) and they are showing that on this very page with her acting like a tourist. The second is that she takes all things literally not adjusting for sarcasm, lying or metaphor like (I love it here, she pulled a lever, we sing all the time), she hasn’t done that yet but it is just the first 3 pages and there hasn’t been anything to misconstrue yet.
 
What do you expect her, her to go “hurrr durr what’s a Canterlot, can I eat it, is it TACO TUESDAY!!!” because she is not that dumb. She is very in character so far.

I find Sonata’s demeanor to be less than what was seen in Rainbow Rocks in this comic.

Now that I’m actually seeing them speak as sirens, they seem rather ugly. Even Sonata, and she still pulls of the cute look.
